By 2006, Katz began to hold “Artist Draw Artist” sessions at his own home. The group of participating artists ranged in age from men in their thirties to men in their seventies. In these sessions the assembled artists took turns posing nude for each other, or as nude as they felt comfortable about. Katz stressed to the  artists that he wanted everyone to feel comfortable. These sessions inspired Katz by providing him a much wider variety of body types and ages to try to capture in his drawing-paintings.
